Precautions during the clean up
- Heat continues to be a major concern. Be sure to drink plenty of water and keep an eye on your neighbours. If you are affected by the heat, go somewhere that is air conditioned and avoid the sun in the hottest part of the day, usually between 11 am and 3 pm.
- Be careful when using chainsaws.
- Be aware that snakes and spiders are on the move and there have been some bites.
- Wear appropriate clothing that will keep the sun off and provide protection from mosquitoes.
- Be food safety conscious-any food that requires refrigeration should be disposed of if left for long periods in the heat or if affected by water.
