Meniere's disease
An ear condition characterised by sudden and recurring attacks of vertigo or dizziness associated with nausea and vomiting, together with hearing loss, tinnitus and a blocked up feeling in the affected ear. There are three main stages through which the disease may progress. The rate of progression from one stage to the next varies greatly between individuals.
The cause is unknown although there is a lot of current research and advances are being made.
The treatment of Meniere's disease depends entirely on the stage that the disease has reached.
